This trek offers a great natural and traditional experience. The Paramillo Del Quindío is listed as one of the highest sites in Los Nevados National Park; it is an extinct glacier since 1986. This trek demonstrates the diversity of our ecosystems and the flora and fauna that can be found, including the wax Palm tree, our national tree and a wide variety of birds.
Day 1: We start with a Salento´s typical breakfast at 6:20 in the morning. We are going to take the traditional transportation that is going to take us to the beginning of our adventure inside Cocora valley. We are going to start the ascending part through the mountains of our great territory walking 18 kilometers approximately reaching the farm in which we are going to have some rest.
Day 2: We are going to have breakfast to start a trek at 7am, passing by different paramo ecosystems, in our way to reach one of the highest points of the National Park Los Nevados (Summit of Paramillo del Quindío). Then, we are going to start the descending part to get another typical farm, different from the one in the first day, to keep sharing the experiences and stories with the community of the high mountains, this is 18 kilometers away.
Day 3: We start with a nice breakfast to recover energies to start the descending part to Salento, enjoying a different route, where we are going to be watching different landscapes that will show us different flora and fauna in samples around the area.
