WAX PALM FOREST IN A MAGICAL LOCATION
La Carbonera is a farm located in the land that has the largest, and most beautiful wax palm forest in the world. Palms that reach up to 60 meters height, within a protected ecosystem that is never crowded, providing a more peaceful experience. This native wax palm forest is located 52 Kilometers away from Salento, in the department of Tolima, a forgotten territory for a long time, that was an armed conflict field between the years 1995-2000, those years were a very difficult time for the farmers in the área.
Journey:
A 4×4 vehicle will pick you up at the Hotel to take you on a 2-hour ride with beautiful and diverse ecosystems on the path to the wax palm forest. Then, you will go on a hike to La Carbonera farm for 2 hours, where you will rest for 1 hour and enjoy a picnic made with local products and a homemade lunch prepared by the family. Finally, you will visit a waterfall and return to Salento.
